Donation - Robyn Williams (Claire Williams Collection) I tend not to actively collect hand made or hand crafted bookmarks but I do so appreciate them when they are donated or gifted to me or if I find them abandoned in second-hand books or library books. This bookmark from Vanuatu, a South Pacific Ocean nation made up of roughly 80 islands that stretch 1,300 kilometres, is a lovely example of one donated to me that I treasure having in my collection. Simple handwriting, three colourful stamps of Vanuatu, and a delightful small watercolour and ink mini-illustration depicting a scene from Vanuatu. On the back of the bookmark is written "Hand-painted by Reggie - Vanuatu - 1992). I have not been to Vanuatu but at least I have a bookmark from there! |
