vintage BOOKMARKS
My use of the term 'vintage' in relation to my bookmarks and their placement by me in this gallery
is based on these definitions from the Oxford Dictionary:
Denoting something from the past of high quality, especially something representing the best of its kind.
Characterized by excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal; classic.
I am not assigning vintage according to any particular date range or era but they are likely to be pre-1969.

“When a bookmark tumbles out of an old book pristine and unwrinkled, it is like a gasp of breath from another century.”

DIE-CUT BOOKMARKS
In the world of printing, a Die refers to a thin, razor-sharp steel blade that has been formed into a specific shape or pattern (sort of like a heavy-duty cookie-cutter). Consequently, Die-Cutting refers to the act of using this sharp die to cut paper, cardstock, labelstock, or other substrates into various shapes. One of the uses of die-cutting is to make very visually effective bookmarks.
