Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”

"Dancing Women" by Laurel Burch

Picture
I purchased this colourful and wonderful bookmark by the artist Laurel Burch from a bookstore when I was traveling in the US several years ago, because I loved it... and I still do!

I love the title "Dancing Women" and the name of the series it is from, "The Spirit of Womankind Collection".  I love the subtitle "Join Hands, Open Hearts".  Most of all, I love the artwork and Laurel's words on the back of the bookmark explaining it.

I have since collected some more of Laurel's fabulous art on cards and postcards.

Laurel said:

“My paintings are the most intimate portrayals of all that is precious to me, and my greatest joy is to offer them in forms that enhance and brighten the everyday lives of my collectors and kindred spirits around the world.”
– Laurel Burch (1945-2007)

Thank you Laurel, your artwork certainly enhances and brightens my day.  Vale Laurel Burch.
